It's the end of the month, so it's time for my monthly post! This time, it is RELENTLESSLY SELF-PROMOTIONAL! Wooo!
My favourite amazing Vancouver women's playwriting group, the Wet Ink Collective, is having their first ever Spring Reading Series and I am honoured that my play, The Good Bride, was chosen as one of the two they're featuring, along with fellow Wet Inkster Maureen Robinson's fiercely funny two-hander A Kitchen Pas de Deux. VERY EXCITING.
I haven't had a play reading in Vancouver since...2009? A long time. And this one is at the Goldcorp Stage at the BMO Theatre Centre, which is super super fancy! I will have to wear my sequined overalls.
It's funny - I do think I would have written The Good Bride even if I hadn't joined Wet Ink when I did. But I would probably still be working on it and also, it would suck a lot more and there's NO way I would have had a fabulous production of it already. So thanks, Wet Ink, for kicking my ass and helping me create opportunities by having some shit done! You gals are the best.
So hey - if you're in Vancouver next week, please come on down and check it out! A Kitchen Pas de Deux is on Tuesday, May 3rd and The Good Bride is on Wednesday, May 4 - one week from today! Check out the event listing for details!
